By history it is said that the Word Padappakara is originated from 'Padakkappalkkara'which means the "navy ship yard" - In ancient age navy ships where been yarded here-as a proof of it, the place CHANAPOIKA

    Most beautiful place in Quilon (Kollam) on the banks of Ashtamudy Lake. The history said that the Word Padappakara is originated from “PADAKKAPPALKKARA”. An island Named Palliyathuruthu around 12 acer is very nearest to this place.
